:: Birds of a Feather ::

::dress/asos, clutch/charming charlie, shoes/lc lauren conrad, earrings/wantable::

In the wedding spirit I thought I would shoot a dress I recently picked up for a wedding in July in hopes that it would offer some inspiration for your next nuptial event!

This dress has such an old school feel but I love the straps, they add a sexy detail to a really sweet dress!

I don't quite know what happen but when the clock struck midnight on January 1st, 2015 I decided I really wanted to make getting dressed easier for myself. Not that it was hard before but I was constantly looking to put together these outfits that were more work than they were worth. Ease has come in the form of black and white on repeat and this outfit has become a main stay. So consider this your SPOILER ALERT for what is to come in future posts, and who knows maybe by the time 2016 rolls around I'll change my mind again.

Side note, I attempted the rose gold look but my hair just doesn't like any dye that isn't the purest form of bleach. It looked great when I left the salon but after the first wash it wasn't as bright which is sad but I also really like the color is washes out to. Come December 1st I'll be going back to super blonde though, I've been a blonde for 99% of my life and I think that's how I should look on my wedding day. Although this current color would look really pretty with the color of my dress.

:: Wantable Review- September ::

::via wantable::

September is my absolute favorite month of the year. Between my birthday, the fashion, and the weather it doesn't get much better than September. So it's no surprise that my September Wantable collection would be one of my favorite!

My absolute favorite part of this collection had to be the set of studs! They are so classic and so easy to wear, whether casual or formal this is the time of year when earrings this versatile come in handy.

The bracelet is beautiful and stretchy so it's perfect to slide on with a statement watch! I see myself wearing this piece day in and out.

Statement necklaces are easily one piece of jewelry I tend to under utilize, I'll see them in Instagram OOTD posts from some of my favorite style girls and wonder to myself, "why the eff don't I wear those more?". The blue in this necklace is so pretty and will go with so much in my closet.

Overall, I love my September collection! I've noticed that the boxes I've gotten lately have been way more coordinated than before and I love that!

July is the month of America, if people spend a week celebrating their birthday then we all agree our country gets an entire month. I don't wear red often but this dress is so easy and versatile that now I want more!

Our trip to Phoenix, AZ was so fun and so so so hot! I got a pretty solid tan to make up for the lack of sun that shines on my days off of work and the days I haven't been able to spend at the pool. We spent a lot of time at the pool floating {because it was far too warm to sit anywhere but in the water} and playing Hockey on the patio. If you don't know what Hockey I mean check out the rules here, it's a really fun drinking game!

:: Wantable Style Edit Review ::

Unless you've been living under a rock, you know Wantable as a fun, up and coming company who provides intimates, beauty, accessory, and fitness edits to fashion loving girls alike. Their mission is help clients discover amazing product and trends they know we can't live without. To ensure they're giving each of us a unique experience their profile quizzes are made up for 32 questions and they utilize a "like, love, and dislike" scale to get to know each client individually before packing each collection.

Well good news, Wantable has made the seamless transition to apparel edits!! Styling 5 premium brand pieces for clients to try on in the comfort of your own home. After 5 days the customer decides what she'd like to keep and what the she'd like to return. The $20 styling fee then applies to any item the client keeps, but keep all 5 items and the $20 styling fee and an additional 25% discount gets applied to the price of the items.

The styling quiz was very specific to body type and fit preferences, the first step in the quiz is nailing down sizes in each type of item you could potentially receive. Next step is proportion of arms, legs, torso etc; I found this a little difficult but I guess-timated. Body type identifying comes next, I find that I don't fit any of the typical body types so I chose the one most like me (obviously). When you get to fit type for individual item it goes by the "like, love, or dislike" scale which is nice because you don't like just one fit all the time so you keep your options open. The lasts few steps include what type of items you'd like to receive (denim, jackets etc), the style of clothing you like, love, or dislike (preppy, glam, boho etc), then you review and complete. It's quite an easy quiz with a wide range of options.

Below are the items I received in my first edit. I was pleasantly surprised by everything I got and intend on keeping all of it!

BCBG Woven Top $78

This blouse is perfect for the current time of year! Black and mint is one of my favorite color combos to transition from Winter to Spring and I can see wearing this top with jeans, a midi skirt, or shorts. It has a triangle cut out in the back that adds a bit of sass to this sweet shirt.

Parker Smith Denim, Ava Skinny $120

Dark wash denim skinnies are my jam, I've actually never found a pair that wasn't too long and at 5'5" that shouldn't be too hard, right? Well these skinnies are the perfect length & fit with the right amount of stretch for those days when I'm not at my skinniest! These are great with sandals, heels or boots! Buying new jeans can be a nightmare so Wantable just saved me that experience! So. Many. Thanks!

Kut Printed Shift Dress $89

When I pulled this dress out of the box I was a bit nervous about the fit as I don't love loose fitting dresses because they can tend swallow me. This dress actually hugs in the right places to show off your shape while still being a great shift. I could pair a belt with it for a wedding, a tuxedo vest for work or the jacket I received below for just any reason. Florals with black backgrounds are great transitional pieces from Summer to Fall and the cap sleeves on this shift lends itself to a season-less piece.

BB Dakota Criss Cross Dress $85

Ok, moment of pure honestly. It took me about 5 minutes to figure out how to get this dress on! *Cue laughter* Once I got it on I loved the 90's vibe and bright coral color. It might me feel super thin which is always a great feeling! It's a perfect summer dress as the fabric is light weight but not see thru.

Jack Ivory Crepe Jacket $80

Talk about a staple item! The weight of this jacket is perfect for any occasion and the cascade front works for both work & play! It was chosen to go with the BB Dakota dress which is how I styled it but initially I tried it with the Kut shift and loved that look too! I also paired it with the Parker Smith denim & a graphic tee to meet the fiance! I feel sorry for this jacket because it's going to be worn, A LOT.

Cost of my Style Edit to keep all items:

BCBG Woven Top $78
Parker Smith Denim, Ava Skinny $120
Kut Printed Shift Dress $89
Jack Ivory Crepe Jacket $80
BB Dakota Criss Cross Dress $85

Total Retail: $452
Less $20 Style fee & 25% discount: $319

Overall, I really enjoyed each piece I received in my first style edit! The brands are premium and the quality is amazing. I am extremely impressed and officially addicted to this new service. The great thing about the Style Edit is knowing that if I don't have time to shop I know I'll have some great pieces sent my way to shop at home! If you're a girl like me who loves refreshing your closet (constantly) and finds pure satisfaction in finding a package full of lovely items on your doorstep this edit was made for you!

:: Wantable April Collection Review ::

:: c/o wantable::

This month's collection was filled with the most beautiful sparkle ever and a really great Spring scarf I've already worn twice before posting this review.

Turquoise & Crystal Earrings- I love turquoise for Summer (as do most) because my grandmother used to wear turquoise jewelry all the time and I would borrow it! The sparkle of these earrings make them a bit fancy which I am totally okay with. I see myself pairing them with a white eyelet sundress & whiskey sandals for a BBQ or night out with girl friends.

Crystal Double Ring- I haven't worn a double ring in years and this one is a stand out! I wore it to work the day after I received my collection and got so many compliments on it. Definitely doesn't allow for easy computer use but let's be honest it's more of a "holding a champagne glass" kind ring anyway.

Grey & White Statement Necklace- What you can't see in this pictures is that some of the white stones in this necklace have an iridescence to them that is so pretty! I paired it with this floral dress & vest but I could also wear it with a more casual look as well! Love!

Mint & Leopard Infinity Scarf- Spring scarves are a must in this part of the country because while the calendar says it's officially Spring, Mother is Nature is all "yeah I don't know". I wore this with an all white outfit and sandals to let the scarf stand out and got a ton of compliments. Mint makes me nervous, if you've read this post you know but pair it with leopard and I'm in!

It was a very pretty month from the Wantable team and my dresser is aglow with sparkley pieces to show off!
