It's that time of year to pull together all the sparkle your wardrobe has to offer because it's party time! Since I saw the below picture of T. Swift I have been DYING to find a sequin, striped dress that didn't cost a small fortune and I found the perfect option at Gap!

:: Beauty Talk- My Wedding Look Inspiration ::

When it came time to start making decisions about how I wanted to look on my wedding day I used my dress as serious inspiration. The vibe of my dress is vintage inspired romance and has a very soft look and feel, so I wanted my hair and make up to feel and look the same way. It was also really important to me that when I came down the aisle my groom actually recognized me, and I wanted to feel pretty looking like myself. I took my inspiration for my entire look from Julia from the blog Gal Meets Glam, her wedding has a similar look to mine and while her dress is different her hair and make up were just what I was looking for!

Obviously we have different colors in our hair & skin tone so I had to adjust to what works for me but I loved that she looked like herself! Her hair is the perfect soft romantic curls which is exactly what I want and will make it easy to put up once the reception starts. I am planning to have my hair done at the salon on the resort but chose to do my own make up. Please do not think I'm crazy but I have always found doing my own make up relaxing, and when I take my time it always works out. When I've gotten my face done for friend's weddings I don't think I look like myself and the colors are all wrong, it's weird I know!

::palette/it cosmetics, blur perfector & lip gloss/ysl, foundation/laura mercier, heels/manolo blanik::

I received the it Cosmetics palette for Christmas and fell in love because it's all matte colors and the pigmentation is perfect! I realized after years of trying to make eye shadow with shimmer work that it just makes my eye lids look heavy & not very complimentary, so this palette is great & it's just plain pretty. I don't want to know a girl who doesn't love a pink crushed velvet!

I use Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer daily but wanted more coverage for my big day so I went with their Smooth Finish Flawless Fluid because it's a medium coverage foundation so it wouldn't be a huge change from what I'm used to but gives me a little more cover. My skin loves Laura Mercier, I've been using it for years and while it is a bit more expensive to me it's worth it because I'm smoothing the product all of my FACE!! Nothing should be taken care of better than your skin, especially the sensitive skin on your face.

Preventing shine was another concern of mine due to the weather in Mexico, being right on the beach I wanted to try and prevent as much as possible so I invested in the YSL Touche Eclat Blur Perfector. This product will be great because it can be used as an alternative to foundation, it'll just blend over your nature color or as a finishing product to reduce shine. I've used it a few times since buying and I love it.

The gloss is the Gloss Volupte in #202 Rose Jersey, I find the majority of the YSL lip colors I love have "rose" somewhere in the name which is interesting because my favorite fragrances have notes of rose and my favorite lip balm is Christian Dior Creme de Rose. Do we notice a beauty trend here? This gloss is a beautiful shade of rosey pink that still looks very natural!

The shoes...well you get the shoes!

:: Wantable April Collection Review ::

:: c/o wantable::

This month's collection was filled with the most beautiful sparkle ever and a really great Spring scarf I've already worn twice before posting this review.

Turquoise & Crystal Earrings- I love turquoise for Summer (as do most) because my grandmother used to wear turquoise jewelry all the time and I would borrow it! The sparkle of these earrings make them a bit fancy which I am totally okay with. I see myself pairing them with a white eyelet sundress & whiskey sandals for a BBQ or night out with girl friends.

Crystal Double Ring- I haven't worn a double ring in years and this one is a stand out! I wore it to work the day after I received my collection and got so many compliments on it. Definitely doesn't allow for easy computer use but let's be honest it's more of a "holding a champagne glass" kind ring anyway.

Grey & White Statement Necklace- What you can't see in this pictures is that some of the white stones in this necklace have an iridescence to them that is so pretty! I paired it with this floral dress & vest but I could also wear it with a more casual look as well! Love!

Mint & Leopard Infinity Scarf- Spring scarves are a must in this part of the country because while the calendar says it's officially Spring, Mother is Nature is all "yeah I don't know". I wore this with an all white outfit and sandals to let the scarf stand out and got a ton of compliments. Mint makes me nervous, if you've read this post you know but pair it with leopard and I'm in!

It was a very pretty month from the Wantable team and my dresser is aglow with sparkley pieces to show off!

:: Jewels & Dots ::

::jacket/guess, chambray/jcrew, skinnies/express, booties/kohl's, bag/h&m {old-similar}, sunnies/chanel, hat/aerie {old-similar}, gloves/coach {old-similar}, gold & crystal ring/wantable c/o::

Does anyone have a really hard time putting pieces away after a season, especially when that piece was acquired towards the end of the season? I am so not ready to put away with cheetah print coat! Also- do you know the difference between cheetah & leopard? It's become a major bug-a-boo of mine when someone mistakes them.

I have slowly become a fan of pastels & I love adding pops of them to more basic pieces as the transition from Winter to Spring continues!

Have you guys gotten a chance to sign up for the Rachel Zoe Box of Style? I fortunately am really good at refreshing the internet and snagged a membership! I cannot wait to get it & review for you guys. It works a little different than most monthly subscriptions in that you don't take a style quiz in order for the company to curate a collection/box specifically for you but Rachel Zoe picks the pieces that will go into the boxes. She is a stylist for crying out loud, what makes you think you know any better than her? Just kidding...kind of

:: Lizzy Lust ::

I need this necklace in my life! It's the perfect statement neck for Spring, it's bold but the pastels make it perfectly on trend for the season!

::mod lizzy collar necklace/ baublebar::

Yep, already thinking Spring trends.

:: Beautiful Mess ::

I have been so frazzled in the last week with recovering from the holiday to getting back on track at work- my laundry & jewelry have suffered.

::jewelry strewn about my dresser::

::because sometimes you need sequins to throw on happy occasion::

I store most of my jewelry in a full length mirror that opens up to the most awesome jewelry box ever (I'll post details soon!) but everyday wears go in this glass tray for easy access. Generally I am really good about taking off jewelry at the end of the day and returning it to it's rightful spot in its home, this week not so much. Oops...

:: November Favorites ::

The accessories that barely made it through November without biting the bucket!

::boots/target, bag/coach, fur stole/calvin klein, necklace/stella & dot, bracelet/kohls::

::details::

::ring/gift (etsy)::

Apparently gold tone has made its way into my life, which I am sort of fine with (2 years ago I would have said something completely different). November was all about metal details and the fur stole was just necessary as the temp drops in the Midwest! Bring on the snow & December favorites!

:: Twinkle Toes ::

I have never been a big fan of pointed toe shoes but I realized just the other day that I'm slowly starting to accumulate more pointed toes shoes in spite of myself.

::boots/zara (old-similar), photoreal pumps/aldo (old- similar), black pumps/target, white pumps/guess, metallic flats/zara::

::saw these last night at target in literally 2 seconds while in a rush to get a gift & make it to a party on time. went back later and bought them::

::white pumps were all the rage for fall fashion week this year, i had a wedding that called for white pumps- the perfect excuse::

::i bought these on a whim while looking for shoes for an event, my boyfriend took the time to tell me he liked them so naturally i bought them::

I don't think I need to share the story about my metallic flats, they've been on high rotation lately and my black Zara boots are from their TRF line last year and were the greatest pair of boots to have ever happened to me in a long while. It's funny how your taste changes as you grow. And for a girl who neglects her shoe collection (or neglects expanding it) having 5 pairs of any trend is a huge deal!
