:: February Favorites ::

February is over and I'm here to share the things I was loving this past month! So, without further ado...

1. Bubba tumbler mug I have been making smoothies for breakfast and this cup is great because it holds my full smoothie and has a straw large enough to make drinking easier. I am going to change out the straw though HA because it's a rubber straw and I want to use a plastic one instead.

2. Vital Proteins!! I recently picked up the Vital Proteins Beauty Greens and have been adding it to my smoothies every morning. It is a blend of non-GMO Marine collagen peptides combined with organic greens to provide Vitamin A, hyaluronic acid, and probiotics to improve health of hair, skin and nails. I have noticed my nails are a bit stronger and hair smoother but am still waiting to see any effect to my skin health. More to come!

3. Smoothies! Obviously I couldn't talk about the first two items without sharing my smoothie recipe! I refer to it lovingly as the "Green Meanie" lol (Scream Queens reference, anyone?)

Ingredients
-handful of spinach
-1 medium banana
-1/2 cup of blueberries
-1/2 cup frozen pineapples
-1/2 cup frozen mango
- 1 cup of unsweetened almond milk
- 1 scoop of Vital Proteins Beauty Greens

Instructions
Combine all ingredients into blender or preferred blending machine ( I used a NutriBullet)
Blend until smooth
Transfer to preferred cup

4. Cereal!! While roaming the grocery store at the beginning of the month there was an end-cap of Special K Almond & Vanilla cereal and for some reason I felt compelled to try it. When I was young I used to eat cereal every morning before school but eventually moved on but I am back on it! I eat a bowl while I get ready for work, Win tries to steal it too so it must be good. Needless to say I am going thru a TON of almond milk between smoothies and cereal :)

5. Spring Scented Candle! If you've read this blog for any length of time you know my addiction to products that contain rose ingredients so it was only natural that I tend to love candles scented with rose. I have been burning this candle since the beginning of February and really love it! It gives off and really soft scent and isn't too girly!!

6. BBG!! Y'all this program is HARD!! I was definitely inspired by Rachel Parcell's journey with BBG so I decided to give it a try and I LOVE it! She is totally correct that the Sweat app makes it easier to get thru the workouts day to day. I am not going to lie I only complete 2 laps per circuit each time thru because I don't want to get ripped and I don't need to see crazy results right away. I am trying to create a fitness routine that is realistic for me to incorporate into my life everyday and trying to complete 4 laps each circuit just isn't my thing. Even from week 1 to week 6 I can see results but I am not nearly as brave as Rach to share those pics just yet :)

7. Slides! This Spring's update to flats, slides are slowly taking over my shoe situation and below I've pulled together some of my current faves!

:: Current Obsession- Mellow Yellow ::

I have been OBSESSED with the color yellow lately, every time I go to shop online I find myself filtering down to the color!

I recently posted this sweater and it's been one of my most viewed posts!! I think generally the idea is that blondes don't look good in yellow but honestly I have found that I really love the color! Below are a few yellow items I am currently coveting!

:: Yellow 70's Vibes ::

::sweater/nordstrom, denim/express (on sale!!)::

One of my favorite trends from 2017 has to be lace up sweaters! There is a subtle sex appeal to them but they are still so easy to wear for any occasion! I thought I would pull together some of the best options out there for you just in case you wanted to try or are already loving it like me!

Lace Up Sweater Shop Guide

Looking forward to Spring 2018 trends, I see a lot of 90's nostalgia coming our way in the form of plastic (think windbreakers) and slip dresses in ditzy prints over tee shirts with bulky combat boots. I lived thru the 90's so I am cautious to dive back into any of the upcoming trends but we'll see what strikes my fancy once the time comes! Here are a few other prediction of what trends will blow up in the next season

Bright, saturated colors- monochromatic and/or color block looks will dominate this one.

Fringe- from accessories to shredded tees, it will take the place of overly distressed garments

Sheer & transparent- sheer clothing and transparent accessories will be an interesting element added

Lavender- with the Pantone color of the year being purple (Ultra Violet), Spring will ease into this year's COY

Fanny packs- with the 90's revival it only makes sense this would be the IT accessory

Shrunken, sportier sunnies- oversized shades of dominated for the last decade or so, but SP18 will see razor edges and mirrored lenses.

What are your SP18 trend predictions?

:: Grey Fringe Sweater ::

::sweater/Nordstrom {similar}, skinnies/zara {similar}, earrings/charming charlie's, handbag/alexander wang, heels/guess, lips/stila "baci"::

So tell me, did you guys crush Black Friday & Cyber Monday sales? I certainly did NOT haha (that's a sad/nervous/anxious laugh) because I did next to no shopping for myself. The one thing I did purchase were replacement black skinnies (see above link) to replace the Zara options pictured here because funny store, I was using the restroom the day BEFORE Thanksgiving while out with friends and completely broke the fly on them. Like, why? How? WTF? Luckily, I was wearing a longer shirt so I could go on with my evening as if there wasn't a care in the world. So, it was a must that I get a new pair immediately because let's be honest I wear black skinnies- all. the. time.

I bought this sweater during the NSale and have been hiding for just the perfect time and obviously this is said time, the weather is finally getting chillier so a sweater this thick is needed. I LOVE the fringe detail and it's so cozy and soft. If I hadn't already told you, which I may not have I have become obsessed with the color yellow as of this last summer. I cannot get enough of it so I couldn't wait to pair these earrings with the monochromatic look to give it a little pop!

I also thought I'd pull together a few little gift guides to give y'all some ideas of great gifts for the men & women in your life! Nothing huge, I know there are a lot of very specific gift guides floating around blogs right now and those are great but these are more of idea starters! I can NEVER think of what to get my husband or my dad because I try to be too thoughtful so sometimes it's nice to have just a more generic idea of something they probably need and will never buy themselves!

Men's Gift Guide

You can never go wrong with a nice leather wallet or a new set of gloves for the man in your life, these are things they are happy to have once they've received them and never knew they were missing!

Women's LOVE a great new sweater or beauty giftset but a new purse also does the trick!

What are you getting for the loved ones in your life??

:: Instagram Round Up ::

Hey guys! I thought I would round up some links from my favorite Instagram OOTD posts from the last few weeks! Life has been so hectic lately that I haven't gotten a chance to score some time with my favorite (everyone's favorite) photographer to shoot some new stuff but that all changes this weekend. Expect A LOT more Fall content coming your way and I am going to do a little tutorial on how I get my almost perfect manicure at home!

::sweater/similar, skinnies/zara, heels/Nordstrom, long pendant/stella & dot, short pendant/kendra scott, polish/opi "black onyx"::

The date night look I pulled together for my birthday dinner! We ended up at the bar (our family business not just because we like to drink) a lot longer than intended because it got super busy so my husband couldn't leave as soon as we anticipated so I'm glad I went a little more comfy with this outfit.

::tee/zara, denim/Nordstrom, slides/Nordstrom, watch/michael kors, bangle/miansai::

I am obsessed with yellow and mustard shades lately! I think like most blondes I always believed I couldn't pull off this color but I adore this top as a great Fall transition.

::flannel/similar, cami/nordstrom, jeans/paige, sandals/zara {similar}, necklace/tiffany & co, sunnies/similar::

The weather has been perfect for easy flannel outfits to run errands. I try really hard not to ALWAYS wear athleisure out of the house so jeans + flannel= new bff!

::sweater/nordstrom, lipstick/ysl #33, keyfob/similar, polish/Essie "pre show jitters"::

Again with the yellow! This Topshop sweater is amazing with bell sleeves and a lace up back, I have gotten so many compliments on it already!

::bag/alexander wang, sunnies/zaful, ring/zaful, bag charm/charming charlie::

Black and gold details are my favorite for this time of year! I am absolutely loving my Rockie bag, I'm thinking I should do a full review! Don't you?

::jean jacket/similar, cami/nordstrom, pants/simiar, flats/similar::

::tunic/similar, leggings/nordstrom, flats/zara {similar}::

Most days I love a tunic/legging combo because it's so easy! Florals against a black background are a perfect transition into Fall!

::slides/nordstrom, lipstick/stila "bacca", bracelet/moon and lola, polish/opi "black onyx"::

Some new details to pull together any outfit!

:: Distressed Bodysuit & Life Update ::

::bodysuit/tobi c/o, earrings, jeans, lips (peony)::

Y'all things have changed around here, I mean I am wearing a bodysuit for crying out loud! But seriously, some really positive changes have happened in my professional life that I am very excited about and I teased a bit on my Mexico recap but didn't get into detail. Well, I got a new job just minutes from my house! I may or may not have mentioned before but my previous employer was an hour away without traffic, but let's be real when in there never NOT traffic? I didn't change career field though, I am still in retail. Call me crazy but to work in retail requires a bit of insanity!

It has been so amazing to be so close to home, have more time added back into my day where I am not required to sit in a car that I've started doing yoga a few times a week! Remember way back when, my New Year's resolution was to get into yoga? I finally found a studio and did it! I am loving it! I am not that girl that walks out of a strenuous work out and feels amazing, so yoga is right up my alley! Plus, I have a really bad back due to mild Scoliosis so being able to stretch out my back after a long day of sitting feels awesome.

Let's talk about this bodysuit for a second. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine at 30, I'd be cool enough to wear a bodysuit but this Tobi option is honestly so great. One of my biggest pet peeves is tucking in a shirt because without fail on that day I have to use the restroom more times than ever before. (TMI maybe but again just being real)  So, that amazing tuck I spent 10 minutes perfecting in the morning is gone within the hour but a bodysuit changes all of that because it's a perfect tuck every time. Not to mention, the fabric of this particular bodysuit is so soft and the distress detail is great for Summer! I also see myself pairing it with chunky sweaters come Fall because I am ALWAYS thinking ahead to Fall.

I have been feeling yellow this Summer for some reason. I was desperately searching for the perfect yellow bag and couldn't find it but that's okay because I found this bag and on major sale and went for it. But these Charming Charlie yellow drop earrings have been a fun way to incorporate yellow into my outfits and they're a much cheaper version of the Baublebar earrings. You know how I have a hard time spending a lot of money on something that I'll only get one season worth of wear out of!

What are y'all still looking to add to your Summer wardrobe rotation?

:: Easy Does It ::

::blouse & shorts/zara {old-similar & similar}, shoes/asos::

Summer is in full swing which means lots of humid nights on patios having a cocktail or two with friends. I love this look because it's on trend, breezy, and chic!

Can we just acknowledge how crazy this world is right now? My social media feed is filled with either political/social topics or Pokemon Go... I can't even take it. At times like these when the world doesn't make sense, I tend to retreat into the little things that make me happy & the people who make me smile.

1) My husband! Kyle is so great at lightening my mood with very little effort on his part. Being anywhere with him feels like home & I feel really lucky I found someone like that to share my life with.

2) Winny...she may be the biggest brat I've ever met but she snuggles like no other! In the middle of the night she'll walk up to my pillow and cuddle my head, all while purring like crazy.

3) Fashion! It seems silly but diving into a copy of Instyle or scrolling through my favorite blogs takes me out of this world and into another where everything is pretty & not so serious.

4) Friends...of course! I can spend hours Snapchatting my best friend just randomness with my favorite filters. I mean the poor girl gets like 300 seconds of just me being a dork but it seriously makes us both laugh so why not!

5) Family! Now that my family has doubled I have a great support system who I can spend time with and just chat about anything other than world issues! It's definitely a nice break.

These are a few of the ways I escape the world's big problems, even just for a little while!

:: Skate ::

::dress/bb dakota via wantable, heels/kohl's, clutch/lizzibeth, sunnies/toms, lips/lorac::

This look was a risk for 2 reasons- 1) wearing a neon when lacking a solid bronzed tan & 2) the purple lips I chose to pair with it. Truth be told when I saw the Lorac Free Spirit purple lipstick I became instantly obsessed and knew immediately that I need to pair it with this chartreuse dress I received in a Wantable Style Edit! I see myself wearing this purple color much more during Fall but it never hurts to bust it out a little early, right?

I am trying to get re-focused on the wedding front! We got so many decisions handled so quickly that I got a little lax about what is still left. Really we just need to book our travel and ensure a photographer is booked as well and everything after that is small details (i.e. welcome bags, wedding party gifts etc) but with how quickly time is already flying I should probably get a move on right? Honestly, I was not one of those girls who had her whole wedding planned since she was old enough to talk so the whole planning of it can get away from me! Any other brides feel that way? I have to say I am super happy with our choice to do destination because we have friends still planning weddings in the area that it seems really stressful...I'm not down with that!

I have so much fun stuff to share with you, including how I'm getting in shape & getting my skincare routine down to a science so I won't have any major freak outs come the big day (insert eye roll and finger crossing emojis here!!). And of course- more style!
